The DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation is dedicated to mission-oriented research in selected areas of communications and navigation. Its work ranges from the theoretical foundations to the demonstration of new procedures and systems in a real environment and is embedded in DLR's Space, Aeronautics, Transport, Security and Digitalization programmes.

 

What to expect:

The Institute of Communications and Navigation, and in particular the Department of Communication Systems, has been conducting aviation research in a leading role for many years in the fields of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS).

The position holder will work in the research group "Aeronautical Communication" and contribute to the development of software tools and equipment that enable the exploration of new surveillance alternatives for civil aviation.

 

Your tasks:

  • Support the development of an ADS-B waveform signal generator
  • Support the development of an ACAS waveform signal generator

 

Your profile:

  • completed Bachelors degree in engineering (e.g. in electrical engineering, information technology, aerospace engineering) or other study programs relevant to the position
  • Knowledge of technical programming languages for simulation and signal processing like Matlab (desired) or Python
  • independent working
  • Basic knowledge of radar technology desirable
  • very good command of English
