What to expect
At the Innovation Centre for Small Aircraft Technologies in Würselen, DLR is researching technologies for electric flight and solutions for the aviation of tomorrow. In a motivated and young environment, you will help to research a high-rate manufacturing process for fibre composite hollow bodies. The focus is on the simulation of production tools made of shape memory polymers.

 

Your tasks

  • Familiarisation with the existing material and simulation model
  • Adaptation and extension of the simulation model
  • If necessary, support with tests to determine material characteristics
  • Carrying out tests for model validation if necessary

 

Your profile

  • current studies in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, lightweight construction or comparable
  • Above-average academic performance
  • High motivation and interest in working independently
  • Previous experience in the simulation of mechanical systems (preferably ANSYS Mechanical: static-structural)
  • Previous knowledge in the field of simulation of visco-elastic and visco-plastic materials
  • Previous experience with CAD software (preferably CATIA V5)
