The DLR Institute of Software Technology sees software as a catalyst for research and innovation. The institute's staff, currently numbering around 200, make a significant contribution to advancements in the fields of aviation, space, energy, transportation, and security through the development of state-of-the-art software solutions and innovative research.

Our areas of competence include reliable and safety-critical software systems, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and quantum computing, human-system interaction and visualisation, software and systems engineering as well as digital platforms and digital twins.

 

Your Mission

We are looking for a motivated student to support the development of augmented reality applications, e.g., for the visualization of points clouds and flow data. This application will allow researchers and engineers to load different types of flow data on self-adapting environment, support point clouds, streamlines and further kinds of flow visualization techniques. Furthermore, existing interaction methods will extended, and new methods will developed to allow for an intuitive exploration of the visualized data. 

 

Your Tasks

  • Integration and maintenance of existing XR applications 
  • Development of new interaction and visualisation features 
  • Testing and evaluation of XR applications

Your Qualification

  • You are studying in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or similar courses.
  • You own good knowledge in programming, preferably in C++ and C#
  • Experience with computer graphics and shader programming
  • Experience in XR or game development (Unreal Engine and Unity) is beneficial
  • And you are a team player with creativity, independence and personal responsibility
