At the Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures in Bremerhaven, we research and develop innovative solutions to strengthen the resilience of maritime infrastructures and make them adaptable, safe and sustainable. In close cooperation with partners from research, industry and other maritime security stakeholders, we combine technological innovation with practical expertise and offer you the opportunity to work on pioneering projects.

What to expect

We are looking for a motivated researcher to join our situational awareness team at the Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures!

 

Your tasks

The position aims at the development of algorithms for anomaly detection in geo-referenced time series data as well as change detection in radar and optical data. Make a reliable and comprehensive contribution to the assessment of the maritime security situation by using your knowledge of computer science and data science to research, develop and deploy algorithms to automatically detect anomalous behaviour patterns and data points.

Your profile

  • completed scientific university degree (university diploma or Master's degree) in an engineering or natural science subject relevant subject (e.g. computer science, data science) or another subject relevant to the relevant specialisation for the job
  • expertise in the field/topic of machine learning, AI and/or signal processing
  • initial experience in the scientific publication process
  • business fluent in written and spoken English

 

Remuneration is up to the German TVöD 13 depending on qualifications and assigned tasks.
