At the Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures in Bremerhaven, we research and develop innovative solutions to strengthen the resilience of maritime infrastructures and make them adaptable, safe and sustainable. In close cooperation with partners from research, industry and other maritime security stakeholders, we combine technological innovation with practical expertise and offer you the opportunity to work on pioneering projects.

 

 

 

What to expect

The DLR Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures is a research and development facility dedicated to maritime security. One of the main objectives of the institute's activities is to make maritime socio-technical infrastructures and their operation more resilient. This is achieved, among other things, through risk and resilience assessment of maritime infrastructures. We are looking for motivated and dedicated candidates who are interested in risk and resilience modeling, as well as quantitative and qualitive assessments. In this exciting position, you will actively participate in pioneering research projects and make an important contribution to strengthening the safety and security of maritime systems.

 

 

Your tasks

  • Development of existing methods for risk and resilience modelling for qualitative and quantitative analysis of maritime systems
  • Risk and resilience assessments of critical maritime infrastructures such as offshore wind farms, ports and LNG terminals
  • Presentation and publication of your research results in renowned journals and at scientific conferences.
  • Opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. degree.

 

 

 

Your profile

  • Successfully completed (Master's degree/university diploma) in engineering field, computer science, natural sciences (mathematics or physics), or other major relevant to the job
  • Knowledge in the development, modelling and simulation of functional and/or technical system models
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and reliability analysis
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

 

Remuneration is up to the German TVöD 13 depending on qualifications and assigned tasks
