The Foundation “German-Dutch Wind Tunnels (DNW)” operates wind tunnels at four sites in Germany and the Netherlands. Our clients come from the fields of research and industry.
What You Can Expect
You are part of the central administration of the DNW Foundation at the Marknesse site in the Netherlands.
In this position, you will take on a key role at the intersection of strategic procurement, contract management, and business controlling. You will be responsible for a demanding and diverse scope of work in which you independently design, manage, and further develop complex procurement and controlling processes.
You will work in an environment characterized by analytical depth, a high degree of autonomy, and close collaboration with various departments. This role offers the opportunity to actively shape procurement, contracting, and financial steering processes and to significantly influence the organization’s economic performance.
Your Responsibilities
You will independently plan, manage, and execute complex procurement projects in both national and international contexts. A key focus is the development and implementation of company-wide procurement strategies in coordination with relevant stakeholders, following a “one face to the customer” approach.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategic procurement and purchasing concepts, taking into account economic, technical, and legal requirements
- Conducting market and supplier analyses, including assessments of performance, creditworthiness, reliability, and references
- Managing and further developing supplier relationships, including claim management
- Negotiating, drafting, and concluding contracts while ensuring legal and economic compliance
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders, especially legal and technical departments
- Ensuring compliance with procurement, contract, tax, and internal compliance regulations
- Analyzing and steering procurement activities using key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Supporting account assignment, budget checks, and approval of purchasing processes, as well as assisting in invoice verification
- Developing and enhancing concepts for demand, supplier, and sustainability management (e.g., lifecycle and logistics concepts)
- Drafting, maintaining, and documenting contracts and contract amendments
In the area of controlling and financial management, you will also be responsible for:
- Preparing reports, analyses, and decision-ready documents for management levels
- Supporting annual budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis (plan vs. actual)
- Analyzing cost developments and deriving action plans in case of deviations
- Project and performance controlling, including forecasts and financial projections
- Improving digital procurement, approval, and reporting processes within ERP systems
- Documenting and preparing financial data for internal and external stakeholders
