The Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology is the main institution for fluid mechanics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). We are a leading research institute in the fields of aircraft and vehicle aerodynamics, aircraft aeroacoustics, space vehicle aerothermodynamics and wind energy. Our institute is based at two locations - Braunschweig and Göttingen - and has a department in Cologne.
Your tasks
• You will perform numerical simulations using DLR CFD software
• You will set-up RANS and hybrid-RANS-LES simulations to model the phenomenon
• You will compare and evaluate the performance of different modelling approaches
What you bring
• Commenced studies in a degree relevant to the position
(e.g. aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, physics, computational science)
• Basic knowledge (corresponding to basic studies) of numerical methods in fluid mechanics
• Knowledge and practical experience in programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Python)
• Ability to work independently
We look forward to getting to know you!
