The Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology is the main institution for fluid mechanics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). We are a leading research institute in the fields of aircraft and vehicle aerodynamics, aircraft aeroacoustics, space vehicle aerothermodynamics and wind energy. Our institute is based at two locations - Braunschweig and Göttingen - and has a department in Cologne. 

Your tasks

•    You will perform numerical simulations using DLR CFD software

•    You will set-up RANS and hybrid-RANS-LES simulations to model the phenomenon

•    You will compare and evaluate the performance of different modelling approaches

 

What you bring

•    Commenced studies in a degree relevant to the position

(e.g. aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, physics,  computational science)

•    Basic knowledge (corresponding to basic studies) of numerical methods in fluid mechanics

•    Knowledge and practical experience in programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Python)

•    Ability to work independently
