The DLR Institute of Software Technology sees software as a catalyst for research and innovation. The institute's staff, currently numbering around 200, make a significant contribution to advancements in the fields of aviation, space, energy, transportation, and security through the development of state-of-the-art software solutions and innovative research.

Our areas of competence include reliable and safety-critical software systems, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and quantum computing, human-system interaction and visualisation, software and systems engineering as well as digital platforms and digital twins.

 

What to expect

The Intelligent and Distributed Systems department researches methods to make complex technical processes and systems – from software development to automated workflows and AI-assisted analysis – traceable, automatable, and interactively experimentally accessible.


Your tasks

  • Develop new methods, concepts, and tools to lower the barrier to entry for using the DLR quantum computers
  • Implement these tools based on existing developments
  • Elicit and develop requirements in constant discussion with researchers at DLR and other users of the DLR quantum computers
  • Support users in using the developed tools

 

You will work independently on the tasks mentioned and liaise with the other team members and the group leader.We give you the freedom and opportunity to pursue your own ideas and drive forward new research topics. Your profile

  • Completed university degree (Master / Diplom Uni) in computer science or other fields of study that are relevant for the position
  • Very good knowledge of software development in Java and Python, especially
            - very good knowledge of agile software development methods and
            - very good knowledge of software quality assurance, versioning, code review, unit and integration testing
  • Very good knowledge of linear algebra for training in quantum computing
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
