The Institute of Vehicle Concepts (FK) of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) is internationally recognized for the design of future road and rail vehicles that enable climate and environmentally friendly mobility while being affordable and user-friendly at the same time.
We research and demonstrate the required key technologies and maintain close cooperation with other scientific institutions as well as industrial and political bodies.
What to expect
We are looking for you in our team to shape the mobility of the future. Road vehicles have evolved over recent decades from a primarily mechanical product into an increasingly connected system involving heterogeneous stakeholders as well as multidisciplinary requirements and constraints. The earlier such heterogeneity and interdisciplinarity are taken into account in the development process of road vehicles, the lower the development costs and the shorter the development time. This can be achieved by making use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). For this reason, the goal of this master’s thesis is to explore and apply MBSE approaches in the early development phase of road vehicles.
Your tasks
- Research on using MBSE approaches in the early development phase of road vehicles
- Building SysML models in Python
- Linking SysML models with digital tools
Your profile
- Ongoing academic studies in the field of mechatronics, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering, or a comparable technical degree program
- Good German or English skills, both written and spoken
- Very good knowledge of MBSE
- Very good knowledge of the modeling language SysML (V2)
- Very good Python skills
- Personal responsibility and commitment
- Independent and structured way of working
We look forward to getting to know you!
