The DLR Institute of Software Technology sees software as a catalyst for research and innovation. The institute's staff, currently numbering around 200, make a significant contribution to advancements in the fields of aviation, space, energy, transportation, and security through the development of state-of-the-art software solutions and innovative research.
Our areas of competence include reliable and safety-critical software systems, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and quantum computing, human-system interaction and visualisation, software and systems engineering as well as digital platforms and digital twins.
What to expect
The Intelligent and trustworthy Systems department researches methods to make complex technical processes and systems – from software development to automated workflows and AI-assisted analysis – traceable, automatable, and interactively experimentally accessible. The Sustainable Software Engineering group translates these findings into concrete software engineering workflows and integrates them into everyday research practices. An important part of this work is teaching the relevant methods and tools through practical training courses.
Software is developed across many research areas at DLR. To ensure the quality of this software, various training opportunities are available to help researchers further develop their software engineering skills. To ensure that the training content remains up to date, it is continuously reviewed and further developed. Your role is to support the creation, further development, and maintenance of open-source training materials in the field of software engineering.
Your tasks
- You support the development and maintenance of training materials in the field of software engineering
- You independently explore and learn new tools and software frameworks used to create and maintain training materials
- You support the development and maintenance of the technical infrastructure required to provide the training materials
Your profile
- enrolled in a degree program in computer science or a comparable field
- basic programming skills
- interest in software engineering and familiarizing yourself with new technologies and tools
- strong writing skills and the ability to present technical content in a clear and structured manner
