We offer an exciting and inspiring working environment driven by the expertise and curiosity of our 11,000 employees from 100 nations and our unique infrastructure. Together, we develop sustainable technologies and thus contribute to finding solutions to global challenges. Would you like to join us in addressing this major future challenge? Then this is your place!

At the DLR Institute of Quantum Technologies in Ulm, we develop precision instruments for space applications based on quantum technologies and bring them to prototype maturity together with industry. In addition, we are driving forward the transfer to aeronautics, digitalisation, energy, security and transport.  We have an interdisciplinary approach: Theoretical basic research and experimental tests meet engineering implementation.

What to expect

The use of quantum sensors enables new measurement methods, even under environmental conditions. The available quantum sensors must be adapted to meet the specific requirements. This involves adjusting and developing electronics, as well as planning and implementing mechanical setups. Be part of our journey in finding new and innovative applications to make the exceptional precision and extreme accuracies of quantum sensors usable for the future!

Your tasks

  • You design and evaluate solutions for the use of quantum sensors under field conditions.
  • You develop a concept for the integration of sensor systems and then realize it.
  • You design electronic circuits and are responsible for their construction and characterization.
  • You investigate the influence of various environmental factors on the performance of quantum sensors.
  • You set up the corresponding control technology and digital signal processing.
