At the DLR Institute for AI Security, we research and develop AI-related methods, processes, algorithms, technologies and execution and system environments. Our focus is on secure and standard-compliant AI, cybersecurity in open data and service ecosystems and AI, as well as automation in mobility and logistics.

 

What to expect

The AI Engineering department defines and establishes and goal-orientated development processes, methods, and tools for safe and secure AI-based applications. The focus lies on the development and application of safety and security-by-design methods for AI-based components, as well as on the investigation of safe human-AI interaction.

 

Your tasks 
•    Creation of 3D assets: Designing and modelling 3D objects and environments using Blender, for use in VR/AR demonstrators
•    Implementation and integration: Incorporating the created 3D assets into VR/AR environments using the Unreal game engine
•    Programming VR/AR functionalities: Developing simple scripts and functions in Unreal to control VR/AR interactions and support the overall design
•    Support in the development and optimization of VR/AR demonstrators: Collaborating on the planning, design and implementation of virtual application scenarios for autonomous mobility and logistics solutions
•    Testing and debugging: Carrying out tests to ensure the functionality and performance of the VR/AR demonstrators; troubleshooting and optimising applications


Your profile 
•    A student enrolled in a degree programme in Computer Science or a related field, such as Visual Computing
•    Good knowledge of creating 3D assets using Blender
•    Basic programming skills and some practical experience in developing applications with Unreal in a VR/AR environment
•    High level of motivation and a willingness to familiarise yourself with new technologies and tools
•    Good written and spoken English; knowledge of German
