At the DLR Institute for AI Security, we research and develop AI-related methods, processes, algorithms, technologies and execution and system environments. Our focus is on secure and standard-compliant AI, cybersecurity in open data and service ecosystems and AI, as well as automation in mobility and logistics.

 

What you expect

The AI Engineering department defines and establishes and goal-orientated development processes, methods, and tools for safe and secure AI-based applications. The focus lies on the development and application of safety and security-by-design methods for AI-based components, as well as on the investigation of safe human-AI interaction.

 

Your tasks 
•    Development of a reinforcement learning (RL) environment: Based on the Unreal Engine and the Gymnasium API
•    Optimisation of the RL environment: Improving performance to enable RL to be carried out within a reasonable timeframe
•    Expansion of the RL environment: Gradually adding further elements to increase the realism of the environment

 

Your profile
•    A student enrolled on a degree programme in computer science or a related technical discipline
•    Good knowledge of C++ programming
•    An interest in machine learning and robotic systems
•    High motivation and a willingness to familiarise yourself with new technologies and tools
•    Written and spoken English; knowledge of German
